Children at MBC
The focus of our children’s ministry is to support our parents in raising their children to know and love God. Our ministry includes regular Sunday morning activities, as well as seasonal programs and events.
Sunday Mornings
Pre-K children check in to the nursery or toddler’s room, meeting the staff at the door.
Older children join their parents in the main service for the opening Praise and Worship time. Not only do we praise together, but they hear our God Stories, as well as information about upcoming events. They are then dismissed to their Children’s group (someone will announce from the stage when it is time and where they should go).
Check in process
Even though the children are dismissed from the worship service (an announcement will be made from up front), we still would like you to check in with us before the service, if at all possible. This will save you and us time when they go to their kid's program. When you walk in the lobby you will find one of our ministry staff with a visible tag and clipboard. Go ahead and introduce yourself and your child. We will ask you a few questions and answer any that you have.
What we are studying
The Children’s Sunday morning program includes fun activities and crafts, but centers around learning God’s word. We use a professional curriculum from The Biggest Story. This takes the children on a multi-year journey through the whole Bible. If you like to know more about The Biggest Story, you can find out more on their website – click here to go to their website.
Through the week
Acting Up / Fall 2026 – our midweek Children’s group is a drama group called “Acting Up.” Acting up centers around the production, rehearsal, and performance of a short play – this fall it is called “The Magic of Christmas.” The performance is set for Saturday evening, December 5th. The play is written by one of our own MBC Youth! For more information, contact Heather Weden or send us a note (Click Here)
About our Staff
Ok – we always need more staff. However, we are picky! Staff must be a part of the MBC body, have been here a while, and complete a background check (this involves fingerprinting and background information). This sounds ominous, but we value our children and make their spiritual growth, welfare, and safety a high priority. If you are interested, contact Heather Weden.
About our facilities
We are currently remodeling much of our facility - you probaby noticed. As a result, we may shift the rooms around a bit from time to time. However, we do this to assure the children's safety at all times. Whether meeting in Fischer building or the Children's wings, each group has trained staff, as well the area being overseen by one of our Safety Team members. If you ever have a questions, look for Heather, or one of our Team Members (with their awkward but obvious badges).
